Programme and Poster:

There was a windy night in Fitzwilliam that did not help the football played by a Leeds team comprised of Alan Sheehan and a team of Juniors as other contenders were in Norway with the Leeds squad for the game in Bergen against SK Brann. They took the lead five minutes before half time when Sheehan's low free kick was pushed out by the home goalkeeper and Simon Lenighan was on hand to followed up well to side-foot into the net. Hemsworth did not capitulate and fought back to equalised through Gary Welka five minutes into the second half, when poor defending in their own half by Leeds, saw the ball fed inside and his low shot from outside the box found the bottom corner. Despite spurning several good chances in the second half the young team showed good stamina and pace, but, in the end, a draw was a fair result.
